About the Artist

Charissa Noelle Massas

Charissa Massas is currently living and working in the New York Metropolitan area as a home textile designer. The daughter of bohemian parents and the niece of an artist, growing up with role models like that meant frequent exposure to the arts and culture of the city, including much cherished museum trips. Thanks to the guidance of two wonderfully inspiring high school teachers, she set out to cultivate her skills and began to imagine a future that included college and her continuing development as an artist. She went on to study painting and art history at The Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick,New Jersey. She studied under abstract painter Thomas Nozkowski, and has always been extremely grateful for his guidance. After finishing school, she participated in a locally organized art collective called The Big Art Show. As she learned to support herself as an artist, she continually tried new ventures such as working as a wedding photographer and a DJ. Eventually her love of creativity, colors and video games led her to the field of graphic design, where she taught her self the programs she was required to utilize in that career path and has excelled in that world ever since. Never one to give up on what she loves, she continues to paint in her spare time as well as create a variety of costumes. As she continues being a creator, she hopes always to grow, learn and develop herself as an Artist and a human being.
